Buying Quality Cosmetics

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of BH Cosmetics. All opinions are 100% mine.
My first date with Junior was almost 16 years ago.  In fact, on December 22 it will be exactly 16 years.  It was a blind date, so when he picked me up, it was the first time we ever saw each other.  I was wearing only mascara (makeup wise) and that was okay with him.  I know some guys like girls who cake on the makeup, but I have never been that kind of girl.

That said, I got a lot of compliments on the makeup I wore the other night at Ryan's party, which got me thinking that maybe a little makeup every now and then wouldn't be such a bad thing. This prompted a little shopping trip, which quickly turned annoying.  I could not believe how expensive makeup has gotten, even at Walmart.  There was no way I was going to pay five dollars for one shade of eyeshadow.  So, I came home, and did a little browsing online.

I found a site called bhcosmetics.com, and I found some pretty good deals on eyeshadow.  They have these compacts full of different shades of eyeshadow at very reasonable prices.  I found the one in the picture for only $24.95, and it has 88 different colors in it that are "highly pigmented" with strong staying power.  I am not sure I will ever wear the yellow or green shades, but I like the rest of them.

They also sell blush and lip palettes, which are also reasonably priced.  I would much rather spend my money on quality products that will work well than on cheap products that don't.

Mens Makeup?

I am going to be honest with you right now. When I heard about mens makeup, the first thought I had was that it was for men who are on television. I know stars rely heavily on makeup so that the camera lights don't drown them out. I was a little surprised to learn that everyday men are using it now. I have a brother-in-law who I could see using something like this. He is very concerned with his looks and appearance, which isn't a bad thing. I think my sister refers to him as a metrosexual. He is a professional, and looking good helps with his business.

These are concealer sticks and they come in seventeen different shades. They are pretty much the same as what women use to hide blemishes and scars, among other things. If you think about it, I guess it's only fair that men be able to make themselves look their best. Using mens cosmetics when going clubbing or to the prom may help boost a guys self-confidence.

That being said, I just can not see myself with a guy who puts that much effort into his appearance. I'm not saying I want to be with a total slob, but I just don't want to be with someone that vain. It could also be that I never wear makeup, so I wouldn't want my husband to. I'm not sure, I just think it's a little weird.

What do you think?
