I Struggle

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of wellnessdaily.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

A few weeks ago, I decided that my family was going to start eating better. I started with portion control, and let me tell you, the kids were not happy. I made the same foods I normally do, but instead of everyone loading up their plates, and then going back for seconds, I gave each of us a proper sized portion, and that was it. Ryan about had a fit when one night when I threw away the extra garlic toast instead of letting him eat it. I also learned that night to only prepare what we are going to eat. Had I thought ahead, I would not have had any to throw away.

This change is only the beginning, though. With the help of www.wellnessdaily.com, I am finding other ways to help us get to healthy weights. I signed up for a free account, which gave me access to all types of resources that can help me in my quest. I found many articles related to portion control. They also link to blogs written by people who are living healthy lifestyles, and to me, they are an inspiration. I know what I want for myself and my family, and knowing where to find motivation is key. I struggle. I struggle every day. I know the choices I make impact my children, and I want, desperately, to be an inspiration to them. If I eat healthy, they will eat healthy. It's nice having somewhere I can go where I can find everything I am looking for in one place.

Losing Weight

I have been dieting since I was about thirteen years old. I was always on the heavy side, and my mom would always encourage me to lose weight. I would diet for a while and lose a little weight, but then once I started eating "normal" again, I would gain it all back. Unfortunately, this yo-yo trend has followed me into adulthood. I gained a lot of weight with each of my three pregnancies, and by the time I had Brandi, I was considered obese. I would put myself on diets, and I would lose weight. My problem has always been keeping it off. I hate to exercise, even though I feel better when I do. I know I have to do something different this time, because I have got to lose this weight for good.

I was reading about the Cookie Doctor and it's a pretty interesting diet. You eat six cookie meals a day, in place of breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They claim you could lose up to fifteen pounds a month. I could probably handle a diet where you get to eat six cookies a day. No exercise is required to lose the weight, but it is necessary to maintain your weight loss. I am at the point in my life where I have got to find a weight loss program that works for me. I think i might give this one a try.

Daily Motivation

If you are anything like me, you need to lose a few pounds. In fact, most women I talk to say they want to either drop a couple of pounds, or maintain their weight in a healthy way. I, personally would love to lose weight in a healthy way, that way I have a better chance of keeping it off.

Skinny and the City is a place where women can go to find the support they need to get healthy. When you sign up for their daily newsletter, you are given access to nutritional information, as well as fashion and beauty tips. As a bonus, every week a newsletter reader is selected to win a fabulous prize. Of course, you have to join to find out what the prize is, but I'm sure it's something wonderful. The writers of this site are not perfect. They are single, married, moms, and even professionals. Each brings a little something different to the group, making it relate able to just about every woman. They also have registered dietitians who do not believe in fad diets. They want to teach us how to make better choices, and lose weight the right way.

I am going to sign up. I need daily motivation. Oh, and did I mention that newsletter subscribers can submit questions, and have them answered for free? How cool is that? This is a site every woman should check out.
