Bored Without Her Sister

Last week, while Kasi was with my mom babysitting, Brandi didn't know what to do with herself. I felt bad for her, so we sat down together and painted a little bit. These are the four sea creatures she painted.
This is her octopus.

Her purple fish.

Her pink mermaid.

Her "Nemo" fish.

Saltwater Fish

I am trying to convince Junior that we should get a fish tank to put some saltwater fish in. I love the colors of the fish, and there really isn't anything more relaxing than watching them swim around.

This little black and white fish is great. It reminds me of a zebra. Too bad they don't have any that remind me of an elephants. You all know I would have a tank full of those.

I would want some live coral too. I honestly had no idea that there were so many different varieties. I love this purple and pink one. They also have purples with different colored circles. I think it would look cool if I used all purple, but with different accent colors.

Salt water fish come in so many different colors and sizes, too. I was checking out some pictures, and found this clown fish. This, of course, led me to wonder how closely I could get my tank to the one in the movie Finding Nemo. My kids would love that, and they had such a beautiful variety of fish.

Whatever we decide to put in it, I know we will love the results. I grew up having a huge fish tank in our living room, and I remember my dad training the fish to jump out to take the food out of his hand. I don't have the patience for that, but I would love to be able to sit and watch the fish swim. I am sure that will be relaxing.

Another Fishing Trip

We went fishing again this afternoon. Junior wanted to try out a new lake, but when we got there they were closing for the day, even though it was 90 minutes earlier than what the sign said closing time was. Oh well, what can you do?

So we went back to lake Cherokee. Ryan and Kasi both caught a couple of fish, and me, Junior and Brandi left without catching anything. Brandi was mad, too.

We tried to explain to her how sometimes you just have bad fishing days, and you don't catch anything. She responded with:

"when you were a kid, how did you feel when your brother and sister caught fish and you didn't? HUH?"

Picture that with hands on her hips and tears in her eyes.

We promised to go again next week, and hopefully she will have better luck.

Fishing At Lake Blalock

When I woke up this morning, it was raining. Luckily by the afternoon, it was sunny enough to get in a little fishing. Yes, Boo is fishing in a pink frilly dress. What can I say, she believes she's a princess. Wanna see more pictures? Click here.

Fish

I grew up with a fish tank in our house. It was a big one, and it had lake fish in it. That's right. My dad caught some fish, and they would jump out of the water if you held food above the water for them. It was pretty neat to watch.

I want to get a fish tank for my house. I don't want lake fish, though, I want saltwater fish. I want some of those colorful, pretty fish that always look so graceful when they swim. I find it extremely relaxing to watch fish swim. They never seem to be in a rush to get from one end of the tank to the other, and they come in so many different colors and styles. I need to find some coral for sale to make the tank itself pretty. I have seen some beautiful coral. It comes in different colors and styles just like the fish do. I have so many ideas running around in my head, and I know the kids would love to help pick out everything. They would have names for every fish, I'm sure. I hope I can find a marine fish sale because these fish can be expensive. I am all about saving money, even on my home aquarium needs.

Saltwater Fish

Ryan has a little fish tank in his room. Right now it is home to one tadpole from the creek, and a turtle we caught at the lake. The kids love watching them swim around, and are looking forward to watching the tadpole turn into a frog. I would love to get a big fish tank for the living room and fill it with saltwater fish. There is just something extremely relaxing about watching colorful fish swim around. It's almost hypnotic. Growing up, we had a big fish tank filled with fish. I would love to have some live coral in mine as well as the fish. I would put clown fish, like Nemo, because I think the kids would love that. Maybe I could recreate the fish tank from the dentists office. Those are some amazingly beautiful fish.
