I have been having way too many headaches lately. Yesterday, my head started hurting as soon as I got out of bed, and it didn't stop until sometimes last night while I was sleeping. Nothing I did, or took, seemed to help. I tried ibuprofen, migraine medicine, a hot bath, and even sitting in the dark, but nothing helped. I think it might be time to have my eyes checked, because I know eye strain can cause headaches.
It's been a few years since I have had an eye exam, so I guess I am due. I have been thinking about trying out contacts again, but I'm not sure. Back in high school, when I went for my first eye exam, I got contacts. I wore them for about a day, and couldn't stand them. I went back and got a pair of glasses.
The thing about the contacts was that I couldn't get past the fact that I had something stuck in my eye. Nowadays, I know they make all kind of disposable contacts, and ones that can be left in your eyes for days. I was reading that air optix aqua contacts can be left in for up to six nights. That seriously freaks me out a little. I know it's an irrational thing, and I am hoping that I can get past it so that I can get rid of these glasses.
The only way to do that is to try and wear contacts again. Wish me luck.

Do You Know Your Pupillary Distance?
The other day I had to have my glasses fixed. I broke the little part that sits on my nose, and they were very uncomfortable to wear without it. As I was waiting in line, I overheard the customer in front of me ask the receptionist lady if the eye doctor would be able to tell her what her Pupillary Distance (PD). The receptionist told the customer that she would have to have a full exam done before that information could be given out. This didn't sit well with the customer, and she stormed off.
While the receptionist was fixing my eyeglasses, I asked why the customer in front of me got so angry. She said that a lot of people are coming in and asking for their PD, but they don't want to pay for the information. She explained that they need to know their PD to order glasses online, from places like ZenniOptical.
I didn't comment to the receptionist, but after I left I was still thinking about it. Why would people think they could get a service, even just a measurement, for free? I may not agree with having to pay for a full exam, but if the eye doctor charged a small fee for this service, then maybe everyone would be happy. The doctor would make a little money, and the customer can save money by buying glasses online. Sure, the doctor will lose the sale of the customer buying his glasses, but if it's a choice between a little money for a simple service or no money at all, I would think he would lean towards making whatever money he can.
At least that is my opinion.

I See Bifocals In My Future
I remember back in elementary school, the nurse used to do ear and eye tests on all the kids. For the ear test, they would put headphones on you, and you would have to raise your hand on the side you heard the beep. For the eye test, you would look through the special glasses, and tell her which circle was closest or farthest away. I always passed those tests.
It wasn't until I hit high school that I started having problems with my vision.
It wasn't until college that I did something about it.
I have been wearing eyeglasses ever since. I don't have them checked as often as I should anymore, mostly because it is so expensive. Luckily there are place like Zennioptical.com where I can get glasses for as low as $8. I have a feeling that I may not be able to put off my exam too longer, because I have noticed that I am having trouble seeing things that are close to my face. The other day, I had something on my shoulder, and I had to take my glasses off to focus my eyes. I think I might need bifocals.
I feel so old!
I was looking at bifocals at Zennioptical, and I found some nice frames. These start at $25, which is still a really great deal. Now I just need to save up the money to go see the eye doctor.

Junior Needs Glasses
I have been reading a lot of good things about Zenni Optical lately. It seems a lot of people are turning to them for their eyeglasses, and have been getting some pretty good deals. Now, I have read up on them a time or two in the past, but have never ordered from them personally.
Yet.
You see, Junior needs eyeglasses, though he is slow to admitting it. I have a feeling that even if I can get him to an eye doctor, he will be hesitant about spending money on himself for a pair of glasses. We are both that way, though. I would rather spend money on something for the kids than on something for myself. But, sometimes, you just have to shell out some cash to take care of yourself. It's the amount of cash you shell out that makes a difference, though.
At Zenni, you can get a great pair of glasses for only $7. This is just the starting point, as they also have different prices for different types of glasses. They don't sell name brands at discounted prices; they sell glasses they make themselves. But hey, Junior has never been one for fashion, so I am sure that as long as he can see out of them, he isn't going to care much what they look like. The important thing is that they are made well, and will last a while.
I read this article, and also spoke to some of my blogging friends who have ordered from Zenni, and they have all been satisfied with what they received. It is so nice to know that you can get good quality glasses at reasonable prices.

I Want New Glasses
That's right. I said I want, not I need. I have been wearing the same pair of glasses for a while now, and I think I am ready for something new. My eyes have not changed, so I don't need a new eye exam. I just want new glasses.
I found this purple pair of eyeglasses at Zenni Optical. If anyone knows me, they know that purple is my favorite color. Do you think I could pull them off? The best thing about this pair of glasses is that they only cost $8. That's right, I said $8. That means I can buy them, try them out, and if I don't really like them, I have only wasted a few dollars.
I know most of you are thinking that the quality must be poor if they are that cheap, but that couldn't be further from the truth. These are well made glasses that can be offered to us, the public, at reasonable rates, because Zenni has no overhead, no middleman, and they make the glasses themselves. If you don't want to take my word for it, check out this article for yourself.
I am going to give them a try. I mean, I really don't have much to lose. If you are looking for cheap glasses, I suggest you give them a try, too. I bet we will all be happy with our new glasses.

I'm Hearing A Lot Of Good Things About These Glasses
Check out these glasses. Can you see the little stockings on the sides? Adorable, right? They make these glasses the perfect finish to any holiday outfit.
Okay, maybe not with that little black dress, but these holiday eyeglasses frames are a great holiday accessory. These come from Zenni optical. I have been wanting to try their glasses for a long time, but it's not time to have my eyes checked yet. Junior is going to have his vision checked in February, and I think we are going to order his glasses through Zenni. A friend of mine recently bought two pairs of glasses from them, and she said the quality is great. You can also read another review here. It is just one of the many out in blog land, from actual customers of Zenni optical. It's nice to know that you can get quality eyeglasses at a low price.
When I finally get around to ordering from them, I am sure I will also be writing a review.

Affordable Eyeglasses

The glasses pictured are from ZenniOptical.com. They have so many different styles and colors of fashionable eyeglasses starting at eight dollars. I was browsing their site, and found so many cute pairs. They had a purple pair that I would love, but I think I might be a little too old to pull off that look. I also found a Christmas themed pair, and I would love to wear those around the holidays. In fact, I would love to have a different pair of glasses for every Holiday.
They also offer different types of lenses, like bifocals or progressive lenses. They have tinted sunglasses and sunsensor lenses. There are so many different options to chose from, you are sure to find something to match your taste and style.

Seeing In The Dark
We plan on going camping this summer. The last time we went, I got lost one night coming back from the bathroom. Sure, I has a flashlight, but it was so dark that everything blended together. I am thinking that this year I am going to be prepared and get some night vision goggles or something. I know OpticsPlanet.com has a wide variety of night vision goggles, binoculars and cameras. Their staff can help you find exactly what you are looking for, and they also sell military and tactical gear. They also offer free UPS and APO shipping.
I was originally only looking for night vision goggles, but now that I know I can get a night vision camera, I might get both. You all know how much I love taking pictures. Taking them in the dark would be awesome.

Cheap Eyeglasses
I think I need new eyeglasses. I have a pair of black wire ones that I love, but the nose piece is broken. I would love to find some that are the same, but right now, going to the eye doctor is out of the question. Most eyeglasses are just too expensive, and we can not afford them right now. I would rather spend the couple of hundred dollars it would cost to buy some more gifts for Christmas.
I know I could always shop at Optical4less, where glasses start at only $15. They have such a great variety! Usually these discount sites offer only outdated frames, but Optical4less has stylish, fashionable frames that you would want to wear every day. Their price is for complete prescription eyeglasses, not just the frames. They also offer tinted sunglasses, bifocal reading glasses, progressive reading eyeglasses, and photochromic sunglasses. At their prices, you could afford to have a different pair for every day of the week! They even offer free shipping if you order more than one pair.
Luckily I am the only one in my family needing glasses right now. Ryan does wear eyeglasses to see the board at school, but we have insurance that completely covers his eyes. I do know where I will be getting my new glasses. For $15 a pair, how can I not?
