Green Hair

Kasi wanted highlight in her hair for her birthday, so I gave her some.  They looked great until we started swimming every day.  Now her blond highlights are green.  Even mine and Brandi's hair are showing a little green.  I blame the chlorine.  My mom bought something the other day to get the green out, but we haven't tried it yet.  She says that once we do get it out, that wetting our hair before getting in the pool will help keep it from turning green again.  I sure do hope that is true...

Kasi's Going Blond

Kasi has been after me forever to put some highlights in her hair.  A lot of her friends have them, but I was still hesitant, because she is only, or was only, 12.  She turned 13 recently.

I was trying to remember how old I was when I first started coloring my hair, and I don't think I was much older than she is now.  So the other day we were in the store, and she asked again if I would highlight her hair.  This time, I agreed.

What we disagreed on was what color highlights.  She wanted purple, and I said no way.  Then she said red, and I was kind of okay with that, as long as it was a natural looking red and not a red red.  She wanted the red red.  We finally agreed that for now, I would do regular blond highlights, and maybe when she gets a little older, she can experiment with brighter colors.

It's nice to compromise.  I hope the rest of her teen aged years go this smoothly.

Pampering Myself A Little

Today is my birthday.

I had a wonderful day full of family and love. My kids made me wonderful cards, and gave me lots of hugs and kisses. I tell you, I love the homemade stuff. I am going to get some pictures of all of it tomorrow. It's kind of late right now, and I just don't have the energy.

Last year on my birthday, my sister came over and put highlights in my hair. I haven't done anything since, so I think it is time to do it again. Only this time, I think I want to pamper myself and have it done at the colony salon. I also want to get a pedicure, which I have never done before. I wonder if I can have both done simultaneously?

That would be awesome.

Thinning Hair

I remember, right after I had Brandi, that my hair was falling out. I would take a shower, and when I washed my hair, I would be pulling out handfuls of hair. I blamed my hormones, just like every other woman I know that this has happened to. Luckily it didn't last long, and my hair went back to normal after a few weeks.

This isn't necessarily the case for all women. Just like men, as women get older, they can start losing their hair. Now, they may not go bald like men do, but thinning hair is a problem for many women. I have a bad feeling that when I get older, my hair will thin out. I already have long, thin hair, so if I lose any it will be extremely noticeable. I will have to use some nioxin to keep it looking full and healthy. This hair system is designed to give hair thickness and strength, and you can pick the specific formula that describes your hair. I would need to use the Nioxin System 1, which is for fine, natural, normal to thin looking hair. This system comes with a cleanser, a scalp therapy, and a scalp treatment. Each step helps hair to look healthy and full, and protects hair from the damaging components that contribute to thinning hair. There are eight different Systems to choose from, so you are sure to find one that will work for you. With discount prices and fast shipping, it is easy to get on the road to healthier, fuller hair.
