Junior and I have been doing great in therapy. We have started going every other week instead of every week, and it seems to be working well. I really like our therapist. She is young, and she makes Junior look at things from a different perspective. She asked us how we met recently, and it was fun to share the story with someone who had never heard it before.
It got me wondering if we would have met on our own. People believe in fate, and maybe Junior and I were fated to be together. If Joy hadn't introduced us, maybe we would have met another way. Online dating services weren't popular back then, and neither were chat rooms. It's not like these days where you can hop online and join free jewish chat rooms to find your soul mate. Fifteen years ago, it was eight hundred numbers. No, I never called one. I'm just saying that times were so different, even though it was not that long ago.
I am just so glad I have Junior, and that we are happy. I hope I never have to date again. It's too hard. Plus, I would have to stop telling the story of how we met, and I like that story.

Meeting People Online
How do single parents meet people? It's hard enough finding time to work and be a mom, where does a relationship fit in? If you are one of the many dating single mothers out there, tell me how you do it. I have a friend who wants to start dating again, and I told her about localsinglemoms.com where she can sign up for free and meet local single parents like herself who are also looking to date again. They offer chat rooms and an easy to use messaging system, so you can get to know a potential date before agreeing to a real date. While this is one way to go, i want to know what you do. Are you a supermarket stalker or a "bring your cute puppy to the park?" person? I really want to know what has worked for you in the past.

Dating Site
Have you ever tried out a dating site? You know the ones where you describe yourself, and what you're looking for, and the site tells you who you are compatible with? I've never used one, but decided I wanted to see what they were all about. I used passion search, and was surprised at all the things they asked. I had Junior help me fill out the questions, and it only took a few minutes. They first ask your sex, the age group you are looking to find a friend in, and then the sex of the friend you want to meet. Then they ask your country, state, and county. This makes sense because you would want to date local men. Then I had to put in my age, and my birthday. It was at this point they ask for a screen name, and we got creative with that. I am not going to tell you what it is, cause I don't want you looking me up! Then I had to describe myself, and answer questions about my height, body type, language I speak, and ethnicity. Once I completed all this, they sent a password to my email, and I could sign in. I haven't done this step, though, because I am not looking for a relationship. I just wanted to check out the process. I was impressed with the questions they asked, and think it could be a great place to meet someone. It is free to sign up, so you have nothing to lose by simply checking it out.
