This is called elephant on chicken egg, and it is painted, or dyed, using the Ukrainian wax resist method of Pysanky. It is laquered when finished, giving it a little hardness.Talk about beautiful.
I found this in LindaErzinger's Etsy Shop, and was a little dissappointed to see two of them. They look exactly alike. I was looking for something "one of a kind".
