Doing Craft Shows

Do you do craft shows? My mom and I have talked about it in the past, but have never actually done one. I have a huge fear of failure, and would be afraid no one would like what I have to offer. I was thinking that maybe my mom and I could get some custom tote bags to promote our "crafty business", and use them to get the word out about our offerings. My mom makes the most beautiful jewelry, and I do a bunch of things, but mostly crochet and wood work. My specialty, if you will, is making signs with kids names on them, and then I paint them to match whatever room they will go in. I think people would buy them.

It's worth a shot, right?

You've got nothing to lose! Go for it! Craft show season will be in full swing in less than a month!

It looks like you make fantastic things. I wouldn't be afraid of failure if I were you. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem very likely that people wouldn't like what you make. Give it a shot. It's the only way you'll ever know. Good luck.

I've only done one and that was about a year ago. Sadly, because it was organized by a bead shop I go to there were WAY too many jewelry sellers. I shared the booth with a friend and we both sold a few items so we "broke even". You also have to remember this is Las Vegas which isn't really a big place for such things. I say to you "Why not?". Try to find one that you thinks suits both of you. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I did many craft shows. Some were good and some were bad but I always sold something. The problem is what to do with what is left over. I have never sold out of my stuff.
