Easy Come, Easy Go

I have a hard time making friends.  I happen to be really shy, and I always feel like I say the wrong things to people.  So, instead of possibly looking like a fool, I just keep to myself.

About a month ago, one of the moms at the bus stop started talking to me in the afternoons.  She is a big talker, so basically all I had to do was nod my head every now and then because she did all the talking.  It took her a week to tell me her entire life story, and trust me, there were things I could have lived the rest of my life without knowing.  I think she felt we had a connection because she had just moved to SC from Pennsylvania, and I am originally from New York.

One of the things I know about her is that she is a nursing assistant.  Several days a week she would show up at the bus stop in her scrubs, ready to head to work as soon as the kids got off the bus.  She worked for a staffing company in different nursing homes in the area.  I am familiar with a lot of them because my husband used to be a CNA when we first got together, and he worked for a competing staffing agency.  He didn't need to wear uniform scrubs, though.  He just needed to wear white shirts and pants. I think they should have been required to wear green scrubs or something, because the white always got so dirty.  He would come home with who knows what all over his clothes, and it took a lot of bleach to get them white again. 

Anyway, last week, my new friend moved across town, and her son will be going to a different school.  I am going to miss listening to her go on and on about herself at the bus stop.  Okay, not really.  I can now go back to reading peacefully while waiting for the bus, especially now that I have my new eReader.

Baby Girl!

My good friend Nicole had a baby girl yesterday! She named her Ansley, although I am not sure about the spelling, and I don't know the middle name yet. Her mom emailed me last night saying she came out with a head full of black hair, long enough for a bow! I am so excited that I get to go visit her when Brandi gets home from school. You all know how much I love babies!

Faith And Brandi

This is Brandi's best friend Faith. Even though they are 3 years apart...can you believe she is only 4!...they get along great. I thought they looked so cute in their costumes last night. I just had to get a shot of their wings, too. Brandi put her's on about an hour before the party, and within 5 minutes they were broken. Luckily, Junior was able to fix them.

Ben Stiller

I am watching friends right now, and it's the episode with Ben Stiller. He plays Rachael's boyfriend, and he is a freak. But he only acts that way in front of Ross. When he tries to tell everyone about it, they just think he's saying it because he is jealous. Then at the end, they all walk in on him yelling at the chick and the duck.

Blast From The Past

Here is a picture of me and my then best friend. This was probably taken in 1989 or 1990, so I was maybe 17 or 18 years old. We worked at McDonald's, and this was taken in the back of the store.

No comments about my hair, but feel free to tell me how thin I was.

Oh, to be that young again...

Holy crap...I just realized I can say this was about 20 years ago. That's just wrong!

Old Friends

I love facebook.

Okay, so that is old news.

But, for the past few months, I have been getting back in touch with old friends. It's been great catching up. But there was one person who I would search for occasionally, but could never find. He was my best and closest friend growing up. His parents were friends with my grandparents, and we were extremely close. I remember spending the night at his house, with my parents approval. I also had my first kiss at his house...it was with his best friend. I would ask my grandfather how he's been doing, but only got vague answers.

So imagine my reaction when I signed into facebook last night and found a friend request from him! Turns out he found me! He has four beautiful kids, and a gorgeous wife. I can not wait to catch up even more!
