My Joys Of Pregnancy
I have three children. I remember when I was pregnant the first time, almost fourteen years ago, I read every book about pregnancy I could get my hands on. My mother was constantly offering advice, and I wish I had listened, especially when she told me how hard it was to lose baby weight. I gained so much weight with Ryan, and I am still carrying it around. I should blame that my lack of exercising and the fact that I love food, but that's besides the point. It was when I was pregnant with Brandi, my youngest, that I first realized pregnancy could cause Bladder Control Problems. Most women experience this towards the end of pregnancy, whenever they laugh or sneeze. I wasn't that lucky. I would wet myself just walking. I remember one time getting out of the shower, and I thought my water had broke. Turned out I had just peed on myself. That was an embarrassing call to the doctor, I can tell you that. I never got to the point where I needed an external catheter though, which was a good thing. I was having enough problems. I got so big with her, that I would lose my balance and fall. The first time it happened, we were pumpkin picking, and I just fell over. I scared the snot out of Junior. The last time it happened, right before Brandi was born, he didn't even bat an eyelash. He just helped me up, and laughed at me. In fairness, I was laughing, too. When I told my OB, she said I shouldn't walk unless someone was walking beside me. Brandi ended up weighing 9 pounds, 13 ounces at birth, and I was so happy to be able to walk alone, without peeing on myself. I'm telling you; it's the little things in life that make me happy.

Looking Stylish While Pregnant
My sister, Tami, is having a hard time finding jeans that fit. She is almost six months pregnant, and getting into that awkward "everything I wear looks funny" stage. She has been looking at maternity clothing but still can't find anything that she likes. I think she might just be a little to picky, but that's just my opinion. My other sister Colleen has been wearing the cutest maternity jeans, so I know there are clothes out there that would work for Tami. Her and Colleen have the same style, and usually like the same things, clothes included.
When my mother was pregnant all those years ago, she wore the awfullest looking clothes. I think the style at the time was huge billowy mu mu type dresses that did nothing to flatter her pregnant figure. I won't even discuss what passed for maternity wear on my grandparents. I am not looking forward to the day when my kids look at pictures of me when I was pregnant with them and laugh. But, I know it's coming, just like I know their kids will one day make fun of them.
My sisters should be happy that they can still look stylish while pregnant. I am sure if she shops a little more, she will find the perfect pair of jeans.

Cute Maternity Clothes

I was looking online for cute maternity clothes for her, because she doesn't like the computer too much. I found this cute little tank top at kikisfashions.com and think it would look great on her. Unlike me, she is skinny, and I think she would love this pattern. If she doesn't, I am sure she will find something she likes, because they have a big selection of maternity clothes. Their prices are great, too, about 75% cheaper than a boutique. I can even give her this code, "blogfriends", to use at checkout to get 20% off her order. You can use that code, too. I am all about sharing the savings.

Looking Good While Pregnant

Tami is having a hard time finding Nursery Ideas that she likes. She knows she is having a boy, and it's her third, so she feels like she's been there, done that with every idea she sees. I think she is leaning towards a sports theme, but with her, you never know. She changes her mind every other day. I just hope that whatever she decides, I can crochet a blanket to match.

My Sisters
I have two sisters who are pregnant. My older sister already has three kids, and her youngest will be almost seven when the new baby is born. It's been a while since she has had to deal with diapers and colic. My younger sister has a two year old, so she knows from recent experience what it's like to have a baby. They are due five weeks apart, so it will be nice that they can talk to each other about all the things a parent has to deal with. They could also check out parentsconnect.com, where parents get together and offer support to each other. It's hard some days to know that you are doing the right things, and it's nice to know that other parents have been through it, and have survived. They can find answers to questions about diapers or pre-school, and anything else in between.

Natural Is Best
As most of you know, my sister Tami is pregnant. Already the mother of four boys, we are all keeping our fingers crossed for a little girl this time. Don't get me wrong, a healthy baby is most important, but after that, we want to be able to buy pink dresses and hair bows.
I remember when I was pregnant with Brandi, my youngest, I had a constant rash on my tummy. It got so bad that my doctor sent me to a dermatologist, who prescribed a hormone based cream. He said to use it sparingly, because it wasn't good for the baby. I don't think I even filled the prescription, because I knew I would never use it. What kind of a doctor prescribes something that could harm my child?
I wish I knew about Beaute de Maman then. This is a line of health and beauty products developed by an obstetrician to be safe for both mother and baby. I was checking out the website, and sure enough, they have a cream for stretch marks. I am sure this would have helped my problem. Their products contain only natural and herbal ingredients. Many celebrities, like Penelope Anne Miller and Chyler Leigh, use these products. I am not one to use something just because a celebrity does, but I am all about using the most natural products during pregnancy. I am sure my sister is, too.
