Valentines

I wish I could say that I came up with this idea all on my own, but I didn't.  My dad's wife made these for all the grandkids for Valentine's Day, and I thought they would be perfect for the kids in Brandi's class.
The cups are the little cups that the Crystal Light mix comes in.  Inside is a mini muffin liner filled with m&m's.  The little baggies are the ones that go over lolipops that you can buy in the craft store, and then we tied them with heart ribbon and added a little message from Brandi.

I know the kids in her class are going to love them.

Brandi's Teacher's Christmas Gift

Did you follow that?  Since Brandi is my only kid who still wants to give her teacher a gift, I decided to make it special.  As some of you know, Brandi is in an all girl's class, and the room is done in pink and black prints.  This is what I came up with:
I know the picture isn't the best...my camera broke, and my mom left her's here over the weekend, so I tried using hers, and, well, it's not like mine at all.  That said, I think Brandi's teacher will like this.

Cross Cake

My mom made this cake for Easter.

Decorating cakes is a recent hobby of hers, and she is getting really good at it.

My sister, brother, and families, along with my gang, all hung out at mom's house last Saturday to celebrate Easter. It was a beautiful day, full of great food and fun.

I am looking forward to the next time we all get together.

Happy Easter To You!

Just a quick post to wish you all a happy Easter!

I hope you are all spending time with the ones you love today. We had a great time yesterday at my mom's, and are spending today just the five of us.

Fishing, food, and family....there's nothing better!

Sparklers

Junior bought the kids some sparklers to play with tonight. They had a ball! At first, Brandi was a little scared, but soon enough she was out there with Ryan and Kasi, twirling them around, having so much fun. Kasi started a small grass fire with one of hers, which didn't surprise us in the least. I have all the pictures posted on my picture blog. Go ahead, you know you want to see them.

July 4th

The Fourth Of July is in a couple of weeks, and it falls on a Saturday this year. I am looking forward to grilling out, and spending time with my family. I love to decorate for every Holiday, and have a variety of flag themed decorations for July 4th.
I found these flag themed Tyvek Wristbands and I know the kids would love them. Well, the girls will. A few years ago we went to a carnival on the 4th, and they put these exact wristbands on the kids when we paid their admission. They got to ride all the rides as many times as they wanted, and they had a ball. They even had a mechanical bull, and each kid took a turn trying to stay on. When we got home that day, the girls didn't want to take their wristbands off. They thought they were too pretty. They will be excited to see I found the same ones.
