I'm A Charter Mom

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Charter. All opinions are 100% mine.
I just "liked" the new Charter Moms Facebook page.  This is a place where mom's can voice their opinions on all things Charter.  For those of you who don't know, Charter is the 4th largest cable operator in the United States, and just so happens to provide me with my cable, internet, and home phone.  I have been a loyal customer for many years, and overall, I have been very happy with the service they provide.

When I heard about Charter Moms, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.  I want to be one of the first to know about new programs and features that are available.  As a new customer many years ago, I didn't know about their on demand feature for several months.  Once I realized what it was, I could have slapped myself for not using it before.  I have almost every channel available, including all the movie channels.  I like watching movies on demand with the kids, because it gives me the ability to pause and even rewind if one of the kids missed a part.  I also love watching Victorious on demand.  I know, it's a show geared towards kids, but I really like it.  I have been known to watch it even when the kids aren't.
Don't judge me.  You know there are shows you secretly watch, too.

Billy's Back!

I am so excited that Billy the Exterminator is back for another season!  There is a new episode on tonight on A&E at 10pm.  The only problem is that I watch Parenthood at that time.  Since I don't have TiVo, I don't know what to watch.  I think the new episode of Parenthood will be on demand in the morning, so I will probably watch Billy.  I can't wait to see what kind of critters he goes after tonight!

This Is Going To Be A Great Week!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of TiVo. All opinions are 100% mine.
I love when all my favorite shows start back up for the season.  Tonight, a few of my favorites returned, like House and How I Met Your Mother.  Tomorrow night, The Biggest Loser is back, and Kasi and I love watching that show.  I am hoping that maybe this year I will be motivated to lose some weight along with the contestants.

Some nights are hard, though, because there are several different shows that I want to watch, and they all come on at the same time.  I am kind of embarrassed to admit that we do not own a DVR.  I would love to have one, though, especially the new TiVo Premiere and the new TiVo Slide remote.  I mean, not only do I love Fall TV, I also love watching movies.   One of the coolest features of the new TiVo is that if I am watching a movie and I like the actor, I can use it to search for other movies that that actor has been in, and then watch them instantly via YouTube, Amazon VOD, Blockbuster, Netflix or my cable lineup.

Right now, you can enter to win a TiVo slide in the "30 Slides In 30 Days Sweepstakes".  All you have to do is either visit their Facebook Fan Page and "like" them, or follow them on Twitter.  Sounds easy enough, right?

I am going to Enter to Win.  Are you?

Aw, Man

I missed the Survivor special that was on tonight. In fact, I didn't even know it was on until I put on CBS after reading with Brandi. I caught the last 30 seconds. I wonder if I can watch it online? I guess I should check the CBS website. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

I had a great time tonight at my dad's. We had a delicious supper followed by the elephant cake (there's a picture of it a few posts down, or you can just click here to see it) I wish we could have stayed longer, but it started snowing, and we wanted to get home before it started sticking on the roads. My dad's wife was going to show me her wii fit and biggest loser wii games, because I am still undecided about which I want to get. It's a toss up between those two, or EA Sports active (I think that's the name).

What do you guys recommend?

People's Choice Awards

Did any of you watch? Ryan, Kasi, and I did, and I have to say, I predicted just about all of the winners. I was so happy that The Big Bang won, as well as my future husband, Mr. Keith Urban. It was no surprise that Taylor Swift won, and it was really funny when Hugh Laurie got up there and started talking. Ryan and Kasi both looked at me and started laughing. I guess they didn't know that he is British. It was pretty funny.

I am also a huge Queen Latifah fan, and I think she did a great job. But I think the best joke of the night was when George Lopez made that crack about Tiger Woods.

Ah, good times.

Carly, And Hannah, And Wizards, Oh My

Okay all you moms out there. Have you ever seen iCarly? Or Hannah Montana? Or Wizards Of Waverly Place?

For those of you who aren't parents of young girls, these are some of the hottest shows on Nick and Disney. Brandi and Kasi both love these shows, and sometimes I will catch Ryan watching them. I can handle watching iCarly, which is a show about three young teens who do there own webshow from a loft in Carly's apartment. This show is funny and well written, and appeals to both of my girls.

Hannah Montana used to be tolerable, but now I can not stand watching it. I think it has something to do with Miley growing up to be not such a good role model for my daughters.

Wizards, on the other hand, is a show that I will go out of my way to watch. I love Selena Gomez, and so does Brandi. In fact, she wants that to be the theme of her birthday party this Sunday. This is a problem for me, because she wants a very specific cake, and I just can not find it anywhere. I can't even find Wizard decorations to make the cake for her.

I guess I will try talking her into something else.

Mr. Handy Man

The other day, Junior decided to move the television in the girls bedroom. He moved it to the other side of the room, and of course, the cable wire wouldn't reach that far, so he had to go buy the compression connectors to make the wire longer. Compression f connectors from ICM are easy to install, so he had no problem once we had the right supplies. I love that my husband is handy enough to fix these problems. This saves us lots of money on repairmen. Although, I do pay for the inside wire maintenance every month on my cable bill, so maybe this would have been covered. I will have to call and ask the next time we need to move things around.

NeoHD

We have two televisions in our house. We used to have three, but Ryan's decided to become possessed or something, so he needs a new one. We also have two VCR's, a DVD player, two stereos, two cable boxes, and a portable DVD player. Each of these electronics come with their own remote. It can get pretty confusing if you don't know which remote works which thing. There have been plenty of times when the kids have messed up the television accidentally while trying to play a movie. I think it would be so much easier if we had one remote that worked everything. Luckily, there is such a thing.

It's the Yamaha neoHD. This is a super cool all in one remote control. You can program it easily to control all of your electronics, and then use the onscreen interface. The remote is super simple looking too, with just a few buttons. I know that some of our remotes have so many buttons, and I have no idea what half of them do. If I accidentally hit one, it takes me a while to figure out how to "undo" what I did. I really need to simplify things, and I think this remote system is just what I need to do so.

Repeat Weekend

There was nothing on television this weekend. Harper's Island and True Blood were repeats. I did watch Army Wives and The Next Food Network Star because those were new. Have you guys seen the new show Hung on HBO? They had the pilot on last Sunday, and then played it again last night.

Basically, it is about a teacher who decides to make some extra money by selling himself to women. The pilot was pretty good, setting up the storyline. I was disappointed last night when they showed it again...I wanted to see something new.

I also watched the 6th episode of Nurse Jackie, and I am addicted. I love, love, love the characters in this show. I love that my cable company lets we watch episodes before they air.

I am really looking forward to this Saturday...the two hour finale of Harper's Island. Who will be left alive????

Growing Pains

I used to love Kirk Cameron. My bedroom door used to be covered with his posters ripped from teen magazines. I had to put them on the back of my door so my dad couldn't see them. I used to have a VCR tape that had every episode from the first season of Growing Pains. I was thinking about that the other day, and wondered what happened to it. Of course, this led to me wanting to watch an episode of Growing Pains, so I got online. Spreety TV Online : Watch TV Shows Online Free had a bunch of episodes, so I watched a few to get a little Kirk Cameron fix.

He sure was cute.

Who's Your Choice?

I love Food Network. I love reality shows. Put the two together, and I am hooked.

The Next Food Network Star began a few weeks ago, and up until last Sunday, I didn't really have a favorite. Then Melissa pulled off the best dish of the night, winning the cover of a magazine that I can not for the life of me remember the name of. I loved that she had ingredients she has never used before, tasted them, and made an awesome dish. I love her authenticity, how she is what she is. A little too perky sometimes? Sure.

But that's not always a bad thing.

If you're watching, who do you want to win?

Do You Care?

Tonight is the big announcement on Jon and Kate plus 8.

Are they separating?

Getting divorced?

Working things out?

Do you care?

Kasi was watching an episode on demand the other day, and fast forwarding through all the parts that had Jon in them. When I asked what she was doing, she said he was boring, so she was skipping him.

I thought that was pretty funny!

Weeds

Did anyone else watch the season premiere tonight? What did you think?

I am interested in seeing what happens, but am getting kind of bored with it all. I think they need to do something a little more exciting, or I am going to get bored.

I was happy to see Californication is coming back soon. I love that show!

Back Story

Did any of you watch Harper's Island last night?

I am so happy that we are finally getting a little back story. They showed flashbacks of the day Abby's mother was killed, and we now know why she was murdered. I am ready for them to wrap it up so we can find out who the killer is.

At this point, I have no idea. Everyone keeps getting killed. It will be interesting to see who is still alive when all is said and done.

My money is on Henry and Abby.

I Watched

Jon and Kate just ended, and I was in tears at the end. I know, pretty cheesy. It was weird, after watching them interact for years, to see the tension between them at the birthday party. It has to be hard enough to be going through something like this without doing it in front of the cameras. I think it's time to call it quits with the show, and work on the relationship. If it ends, Kate can came back as Kate and Eight, or something. I just think they should step away for a while.

That's just my opinion.

Tonight On TLC

The season premiere of Jon and Kate Plus Eight in on tonight. I have heard that it is going to be a little he said she said. My sister said they don't even sit together for the interview.

I don't know what's going on with them. I read an article in People where she gave her side of the story, and basically said she didn't really believe him when he said he didn't cheat.

Did she cheat?

Is it really that big a deal? Not the cheating part, but that all of America is obsessed with this and taking sides.

If they are that unhappy, stop doing the show. Problem solved. I know I wouldn't want to be airing my dirty laundry on television.

Deadliest Catch

Have you noticed the marathons running this weekend? There's the Deadliest Catch one on The Discovery Channel. Jon and Kate is one TLC all weekend. I know there were more but I can't remember right now. I can handle the Deadliest Catch, but after a while, Jon and Kate get on my nerves. What about you? What show can you watch over and over?

New URL

I am excited to say that my other blog is now a dot com! It is now www.mykidsaremyworld.com, so if you link to me, I would be forever grateful if you updated your links. I was thinking about doing this one too, but one step at a time. It was easier than I expected getting it all switched, and that was because of my amazing friend Anna, who walked me through every step.

Oh, and I missed Harper's Island, so I have no idea who died or what happened. Did anyone see it? Wanna tell me what happened????

The Tudors

Season three of The Tudors has started on Showtime. My cable company allows me to see each episode a week in advance, so I have already watched the first two episodes. This season King Henry is married to Jane Seymour (sp?) and there is unrest in England. I don't know why they didn't have a show like this when I was supposed to be learning all of this in school. Jonathan Rhys Meyers has the most awesomely beautiful blue eyes. I am such a sucker for blue eyes.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens this season.

American Idol

I used to be a faithful AI viewer.

I watched.

I voted.

I cheered.

I cried.

This year, I don't care.

I watched the first episode of auditions, and didn't even make it halfway through.

I think it might be the new judge.

I'm not sure.

I'm just not into it this year.
