I don't even remember what we were talking about, but the kids were discussing being :goth" and "emo". Now, I know what "goth" is, but have never heard the term "emo" before. Turns out it is the word used to describe "cutters".
I have some knowledge of cutting, because my sister used to date a guy who started doing this. I never witnessed it myself, but the stories she told were scary. This is not something you can control...it is like an addiction.
Ryan said his friend has done it. A friend I know. I asked Ryan if his parents knew, and he said yes, and that he hadn't done it in a while. I was uncomfortable with this, because if it was Ryan, and one of his friends mom's knew about it, I would want them to make sure that I knew, too. So I talked with a friend of mine, who knows his mom, and she said she would mention it to her. I feel better knowing I did something. Hopefully this kid will be alright, and really did stop.
