Who Is The Superstar?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PlayStation MOVE. All opinions are 100% mine.
Let me set the scene for you.

WHO: me, Junior, Ryan, Kasi, and Brandi

WHAT: family game night

WHERE: the living room

WHEN: at least once a month

WHY: because it's FUN!

Family game night is kind of a tradition around here.  It started a few years ago when we taught the kids how to play Rummy.  I would bake up all kinds of junk food and we would gather around the table and play and eat.  It was nice spending time with the kids, and they had a lot of fun beating Junior and I.  We have gotten tired of playing cards, so we recently started playing board games.  As much fun as this is, I want to start doing something a little more physical.  I want us to get up and move.

There is no better way to do that than with the PlayStation®Move. The Move is a special controller and sensor system that you can add to your PlayStation3 for only $99, and it adds the ability to be interactive with video games.  (think Wii)  I was searching for a game online that we could all play together, and I found one called TV Superstars, and I think it has something for each of us.

In "Let's Get Physical", you can shoot paint cannons and perform stunts.  I can see Ryan playing this game, and doing really well with it.  I mean, what boy doesn't like performing stunts?

In "Frock Star", you can take center stage and model your way to stardom.  If you have met my children, you know this is right up Brandi's alley.  She already has the diva attitude down pat.

In "DIY Raw", you can paint, saw, hammer...does anyone else think this would be perfect for my husband?

In "Big Beat Kitchen", you can make over celebrity homes.  Yup, this one is totally me.

And finally, for Kasi, we have "Super Television Acting Agency".  She can perform and record her own TV commercials.

As you can see, there is a game within a game for every member of my family.  I am looking forward to getting both the PS3 and the Move so that we can enjoy this game in the future.

Online Games

I read online yesterday about this woman who killed her three month old son because he was interrupting her time on the computer.  Apparently she was playing Farmville, and the baby wouldn't stop crying, so she shook him to quiet him down.  I think the article said she hit the baby's head on something and he died.

Seriously, what is wrong with people?  I love my computer games, but there is no way I would put them ahead of my family.  I think there is a point when gaming becomes an addiction, and that is when you need to walk away.

That said, there are some games on tower defence that look like they might be fun to play.  I limit myself to the games on Facebook and my personal cd's, but I am always willing to try a new game if someone recommends it.  You see, I am one of those people who become addicted, though never to the point of killing my family.  If I were to search out games to play on the internet, I might not ever get up from this computer.  It's all about limits and self control.

I know I need to work on that last one.

Finding Online Casino Games

Do you play casino games online?  Junior was looking for a site where he could play slots and poker, and we found a bunch of different sites about casino games online with casinogamblingindex.com.  The only problem is that you have to play with real money, and that is not what he was looking for.  He just wants to play for fun.

Anyone know where he can find games like that?

YoVille Or Casinos?

My son is obsessed with playing YoVille online. I set up a game for myself, but never really got into it. So I did what any good mother would do. I let him use my game to get ahead in his game. I prefer to stick with my cat and fish games. What can I say? I'm an animal lover.

It could be worse, though. Ryan could be playing casino games online. I am glad he would rather spend time in a virtual town than in a virtual casino, because those online casinos can become addicting.

Happy Games

I love all the games on Facebook. I have a farm, and a cafe, and an aquarium, and an island....wait...I have two different islands. I also have pets. Kitties. Lots of them in all different colors. The past few days, as I have logged into different games, I get messages saying that they have improved the games, making it easier to level up.

I am already obsessed...did they really need to make it easier to play?
I seriously lose too much time out of my day to these games as it is.

HSM3 Dance

I usually hate to shop. In fact, it is my least favorite thing in the entire world. But, this time of year, I can almost tolerate it, because this is when stores have some pretty awesome sales.

The other day, Junior, Brandi and I were in Walmart, and we found this PS2 game for $6. It's some kind of dancing game, and it comes with the dance mat. Brandi totally freaked out and had to have it, because it is just like the wii game they play in gym at school.

That's right, my kid goes to school to dance to the wii. I'm not sure if I think this is an awesome idea or if I think the gym teacher is just slacking off. Either way, this was originally a $30 game, so we bought it for her.

I just can't pass up a sale that good.

Check Mate

Junior loves to play chess. I can play, but I hate playing with him because he ALWAYS wins. In like three moves. What's the fun in that?

His solution to this problem was to teach the kids how to play. And they LOVE it! I was impressed with Junior's patience as he taught them. Now they not only play with him, but they have started playing each other. The girls are fun to watch, because they aren't sure of all the rules, so they kind of make them up as they go along.

I love it, though, because I don't have to play anymore.

Gambling Responsibly

Games of chance are the easiest to play. There is no skill required. Basically, it's all about luck. Playing slots games requires no experience. You just pull the handle and hope for the best.

I have never had much luck with games like this. I have a tendency to get bored and bet everything on one spin. This is not such a good idea, because it can end the game very quickly.

Just remember to gamble responsibly, and never gamble with more money than you can afford to lose.

Slots

Do you play in online casinos for real money? If so, check out this website, where you will find a list of safe casinos where you can play slots. I am not a big fan of games of chance, but Junior likes them. I would much rather play my cafe game.

Online Casinos

It is no secret that I love playing games online. I have to really limit the time I spend doing this, because I can lose hours out of every day if I'm not careful. It's embarrassing to admit, but when I first started playing roller coaster tycoon, I did nothing else for days. I was obsessed with it, and I finally had to just walk away.

You don't even want to know how bad I got once I bought the second and third editions of the game.

The bad thing is that I think I have passed my gaming gene on to my girls. They can get lost in computer games as easily as I do, and I have to limit their time online because of it. Thankfully, Junior and Ryan seem to be unaffected. Junior's only weakness is playing poker and slots online. He has been trying to find a good site to play on, and was happy to come across this online casino guide. This site lists the best online casinos to play in.

I won't let him play on any site that requires him to gamble with real money, simply because we don't have any money for him to play with. He used to play the poker machines when they were legal in South Carolina, and he would usually come out ahead, so I have no doubt in his ability.

I have doubt in our ability to come up with extra money to play with right now.

Games People Play

Online games are addicting. I used to avoid them at all costs, but lately have found myself being sucked in. I should have seen it coming, too, considering how much I love playing video games. I remember playing the original Mario Brothers game, and Donkey Kong. Video games have advanced so much since then, and to be honest, I find the majority of them confusing these days.

It's a good thing there are gaming forums where I can find the help I need to understand these games. I can also read what other people think of games before I go out and buy them, because lets face it, games these days are expensive.

In A Pickle

You all know how much I love playing games. Online, board games, yahtzee, cards...it doesn't matter, I love them all.

My mom bought this new game called In A Pickle. It took us a while to figure out how to play, but now that we have the hang of it, it's fun to play. We taught Kasi how to play yesterday, and she picked it up pretty quick.

Basically, you are given cards with words on them, and you have to add your card to the series as something bigger or smaller then the word that is down. Confused? Yeah, we were too!

Trust me...you have to use your brain and get creative, but it's lots of fun.

Oh, This Is Bad

I can not stop playing Farm Town. It's crazy, I know. My mom started all this, and she told me a secret the other day. If you hire people to harvest your crops, you get more money for them. If you get a job to harvest someone's crops, you can make LOADS of money. When I woke up this morning, I had 8,000 coins, because I spent 50,000 yesterday buying more land. Right now I have over 80,000, just from working on other people's farms. This is why I am not blogging. I am too busy playing.

Is it time for an intervention?
