Love Them!!!!!

I decided last week that I needed a little something for myself.  So, I scoured etsy and found these beautiful earrings in MAB Jewelry's shop.  Aren't they gorgeous!

I was also thrilled when the package arrived and inside was a surprise...a pair of elephant dangle earrings.  They are so cute.  I recommend this seller to anyone looking for unique, beautiful jewelry.

One Of My Favorites

RememberRene is one of my newest favorite etsy shops.  Shari sells the most beautiful handmade jewelry.  This particular set is $33, with free shipping.

I bought something from her recently, but I am giving it as a gift so I don't want to put up a picture of that until after Christmas.  But trust me...I will, because what I bought is beyond beautiful.

If you are looking for Christmas gifts, check out her shop.  I am sure you will fall in love with her work, just like I have.

Beautiful Jewelry

I have been thinking about Christmas a lot lately.  I have a few gifts for the kids, but not enough to fill beneath the tree.  I have a few things for my nieces and nephews, but there are still other people to buy for.

I used to have a few Jewish friends when I lived in NY, and I always loved the jewelry they wore.  I found a site online that sells Jewish Jewelry and the pieces they have are so beautiful.  I am not sure what this pendent symbolizes, but I would wear it.
I also found this Five Metals Ring, and even though I read the description of the ring, I don't really understand it's significance.   I think it is supposed to bring success to whomever wears it.
I also found this very pretty Star of David.   They have one that has a purple stone in the center, too, and you all know that one would be my favorite.
Do you think I could give Jewish jewelry to my family for Christmas, or is that bad?

Rings

Last month, I celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary.  When we got married, we didn't have much money.  We weren't one of those couple who saved their money for years before saying "I do".  In fact, we didn't know each other very long before we got married.  Our wedding took place exactly six months from the day we met.  I didn't dream of shopping in a San Diego Jewelry store for a ring.  In fact, Junior asked what kind of cut I liked, and the next day I had a ring on my finger.   Not just any ring, though.  It's the perfect ring, because he chose it for me.

I didn't have to pour through San Diego Diamond Rings.  I didn't have to hint for months about which ring I wanted. Like I said, we didn't have much money, so even getting a ring at all was special.  There were so many other things he could have spent that money on, considering I was a little pregnant at the time.  But, he wanted me to have a symbol of our love, and it still sits on my finger today.

I did have a say on my wedding band, though.  Again, I didn't want anything fancy.  In fact, it is a simple gold band, and it matches my ring perfectly.  We didn't buy it at a San Diego Wedding Bands store, we bought it at a local flea market.  I know, that sounds crazy, but back then, it was all we could afford.  And it was all I wanted.

It's still all I want.

New Earrings

I have been known to spend hours on etsy.  I love searching for elephants, and seeing all the wonderful creations people have made.  I love looking at all the handmade jewelry, and have been known to buy a pair of earrings from time to time.  I am very particular, though, because I hate paying for shipping.  I also refuse to pay more than $5 for a pair.

So tonight, I was browsing the earrings, and I found that pair over there in the picture.  They are silver dangle things with purple "crystals", which we all know are just beads. (I know they look gray in this picture, but the description says purple)  I found them in Skippie Chic Jewelry.  I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first.  I mean, they are pretty and all, but I wasn't sure they would match anything I wear.

Then I saw the price, and I was sold.  They were less than $3, and I got free shipping.

Now I can't wait to get them, so I can see if they match anything I own...

I Love Etsy!

A couple of weeks ago I splurged a little and ordered a few elephants off of etsy. I also ordered a couple of pairs of earrings. The ones that I am wearing in that picture over there are my favorites. They are made with silver wire, and it's all squiggly at the top, then it has two black beads at the bottom. They hang pretty low, which I really like. Sure, they get stuck on my shirt every once in a while, but that's the price we girls pay, right?

The one thing that all these things that I ordered have in common is that there were business cards inside of each package. There was such a variety of business card designs, with some even being magnetic. (I know these are just regular business cards stuck on magnets) I consider myself pretty crafty, but not enough where I would sell what I make. There have been a couple of times where I have tried to make a buck or two, but nothing ever comes of it. I never had business cards made, and maybe that would have helped me get my name out there. Who knows.

I guess I will just continue to give away my creations, and let the people I love enjoy them.

Here's A Tip For All The Guys Out There

Okay guys. And by guys, I mean all you men out there. Are you looking for the perfect Valentine's gift for that special lady in your life? Why not give her a beautiful magnetic necklace?

Check out the design on the one in the picture. Doesn't it look like little X's and O's? What girl wouldn't love wearing hugs and kisses around her neck? I know I would love it.

You can check out the other Titanium Magnetic Necklaces because you might like a different one better. They all have very strong magnets, so whichever one you choose, you get free shipping, no matter where you live, which is pretty awesome.

I know sometimes it's hard for you men out there to shop for the girls in your lives, so let me make it easier for you with this one little piece of advice:

You can never go wrong with jewelry.

Tianarutledge's Etsy Shop

Now, most of you are aware that every Halloween, I throw a huge party for my son's birthday, and we make it a costume party. I have done this the past two years, and it has been so. much. fun. I always have a hard time coming up with a costume for myself, and was tickled when I found this necklace on etsy.

How freakin' cool is that! I LOVE it! The earrings are separate, and can be found in tianarutledge's etsy shop. I love those too. The only problem is that I don't have a long neck, so I am not sure how it would look on me.

I really want to learn how to create with polymer clay. Maybe next year when we get our tax refund I will try my hand at it.

I will probably end up with a hundred elephants!

I Started Christmas Shopping

Kasi is at that age where she wants to own nice jewelry. I think I was about her age when I got my first "real" piece of jewelry, so I have been on the lookout for something nice, but not too expensive, just in case she looses it.

So, I was so excited when I found this ring in rogersearthworksetsy shop . It is totally girly and also elegant. I thought it would be perfect for Kasi. I was ready to cringe as I looked for the price, and couldn't believe my eyes! Are you ready?

$1.50 + $2.50 s&h = $4 total!

Holy crap! I was so excited! It's silver plated, which is perfect for her. I ordered it, and can't wait to get it. I think she is going to love it. I wish my nieces were older, because they had all different types for the same price. I could have knocked out a bunch of shopping.

Casey Lea Creations Etsy Shop

I thought I would take a break from all the elephants and share with you a beautiful pair of earrings.

As most of you know, purple is my favorite color, along with black. These earrings are copper and purple, and dangle 3 3/4 inches. I love the accents on the purple beads, all swirly and pretty.

Casey Lea Creations also has necklaces and earrings that show off intricate bead work. This jewelry maker is quite talented, and I would be honored to own these earrings, which are very reasonably priced.

On a side note, I have been finding some really cute jewelry, but I refuse to post about them because their shipping costs are so high. Can someone please tell me how mailing a simple pair of earrings cost $6 or $7? I don't get it.

Kimari Jewelry Etsy Shop

Can you say elephants????

I have never seen anything like this, and I love it. I love the different elephant pictures, and the dangley elephant charm. This bracelet really want to be worn on my wrist. :)

You can find this bracelet, and other funky, unusual jewelry at KIMARI JEWELRY etsy shop. The prices are very reasonable, but still a little too rich for my blood.

But for those keeping track for Christmas, consider this another hint!

Monica E, Jewelry Etsy Shop

Simple.

Silver.

Stylish.

Three words that describe these earrings perfectly. I love how it's the hoop and the elephant. Nothing fancy or colorful. They are reasonably priced, too, at just $10. Shipping is a little high, I think, for a pair of earrings, but I am tempted to buy them anyway. I think they would look perfect on me. I just love hoops!

You can find these earrings and other beautiful jewelry in monicaejewelry's etsy shop.

DesignsByLluna Etsy Shop

I was browsing through etsy shops, which, by the way, has become an enjoyable past time for me, and found this cute little elephant pendant. The elephant, and dragonflies, are secured onto a blue background. I am really loving silver these days, so this necklace is right up my alley. I wanted to see what other kinds of jewelry was available in the DesignsByLluna shop, so I clicked her "shop" button. I found all kinds of cute little necklaces, with birds, flowers, and even one with a violin.

I was not expecting to find anything cuter than that elephant pendant, but I did. I found this cute pinkish purple elephant pendant! You all know I am more of a purple girl, and I love, love, love the way green looks on purple, or in this case, pinkish purple. This one also has dragonflies.

At $35 each, plus $5 s&h, I can only dream of owning one. I might, however, send out some hints for Christmas. I mean, there's only four months left to shop.

So, hint, hint!

Bling Bling

What do you think of this bracelet? It comes in a bunch of different colors, like blue, red, yellow, and the black I have shown. I prefer the black. I think it looks more elegant.

You can find all kinds of Bling Bling at Hip Hop Bling. They have been around for years, and are responsible for starting some of the trends you see in the hip hop industry.

I may not be into the hip hop scene, but that doesn't mean I don't know a pretty piece of jewelry when I see it.

Um, Okay

Lately, I have been doing posts about the great things I have found in etsy shops that I really, really want.

This is not one of those posts.

I look at this necklace, and immediately think of Harper from Wizards of Waverly Place. She's the character who wears the oddest clothes, like the fruit roll up dress.

I just can't see a grown person wearing something like this. I admire the designers creativity, but...well...I don't know.

That said, I would probably buy it because of the elephant :).

GreenFamilyTreeDSG's Etsy Shop

I am trying to be more girly. I have gotten into the habit of wearing earrings when we leave the house, but I only have one pair that I really love. I have been trying to find different styles, but am always drawn to the purples. It's a good thing I wear a lot of black.

These Alexandrite Star - Alexandrite Swarovski Crystal earrings are $8, with free shipping. They dangle about an inch and a half, and I am thinking danglers are in style right now. I seem to see that everywhere I look. I am not sure, however, how they would look on me, because I have such a round, fat face.

I might just have to get them and see.

New Wedding Rings

For years, Junior worked in a busy truck stop. He was the order writer, but he also helped the mechanics work on the big trucks. It was dangerous for him to wear jewelry in the shop, so he took off his Wedding Ring. I didn't mind too much. I mean, I didn't need him to wear a ring to know that he loved me.

When he started working at The Home Depot, he decided to start wearing it again. He went to put it on, but it was too small. We could have it resized, but I would rather just get a new ring for him. I was looking at the titanium grades that are used to make rings, and decided that I love these black tungsten rings. I love the way the silver and black look together. I want to get us both new rings, but my engagement and wedding rings are gold, and that band just wouldn't match. I may have to look into having my diamond reset into a titanium band, that way I can wear that wedding band. Is it horrible that I want my wedding set to have black in it? Is that a sign of bad luck?

I think I'll take my chances. It's been almost fourteen years already. I think we'll make it no matter what color our rings are.

My Wedding Ring

I love my engagement and wedding rings. They are simple gold bands with a 1/4 carat marquise cut diamond. It's not the biggest or most expensive diamond in the world, but there was, and is, a lot of love behind it, and that is what matters to me. We looked at tungsten rings, but I liked the ones we picked out best. Yes, I picked out my own ring. I know some women like to be surprised, but I'm not one of them. I knew what I wanted, and Junior knew enough to let me have a say. He's a pretty smart guy.

If you are a guy, and you are looking for engagement and Wedding Rings, I strongly suggest that you ask your future wife what she likes. Even if you want it to be a surprise, find a way to get her input. Trust me on this. There are so many different diamond sizes and cuts, not to mention the different bands available. My sister and her husband got titanium wedding bands, and they love them. My mom had white gold bands, and that is pretty as well. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be perfect, because it is a symbol of your love, and that is the most important thing.

Beautiful Ring

I have very recently become a fan of sterling silver jewelry. My mom gave me her engagement ring from my dad, and it is white gold. I needed jewelry to match that, so I bought a sterling silver ring, which I love. I love how the silver sparkles, and silver is so affordable.

Check out this beautiful etoile ring. I found it at Jewels of Denial. It's sterling silver with cubic zirconias. It costs less than thirty dollars, which is right within my budget. I think I might have to drop a few hints to Junior about this beauty. It would look perfect on me!
