I don't even remember what we were talking about, but the kids were discussing being :goth" and "emo". Now, I know what "goth" is, but have never heard the term "emo" before. Turns out it is the word used to describe "cutters".
I have some knowledge of cutting, because my sister used to date a guy who started doing this. I never witnessed it myself, but the stories she told were scary. This is not something you can control...it is like an addiction.
Ryan said his friend has done it. A friend I know. I asked Ryan if his parents knew, and he said yes, and that he hadn't done it in a while. I was uncomfortable with this, because if it was Ryan, and one of his friends mom's knew about it, I would want them to make sure that I knew, too. So I talked with a friend of mine, who knows his mom, and she said she would mention it to her. I feel better knowing I did something. Hopefully this kid will be alright, and really did stop.

Alex knew a kid at his school that was doing this too! Just tears me up inside!
Emo means, emotion and basically these kids are the goth kids of our day! You know the loner kid that doesn't fit in and no one likes(supposedly).
Now they are all banding together to be depressed. There's a whole world of music geared towards them and everything.
